A few weeks ago, something strange happened: after enjoying a lengthy stay on the first page and sometimes second page of Google’s search results for the keyword ‘drupal themes’, Google decided it had enough of us: we dropped to page four of the results, then page ten, and then page sixteen. Eventually we vanished from the results all together, and many other of our lesser keywords started to suffer too.

Today I thought I’d do a bit of a roundup and comparison of what I personally believe to be the best Drupal slideshows available, and discuss some of the other straight-up jQuery plugins that site developers can use when site building.

At this point in time, the slideshow is almost a ubiquitous element of not only premium drupal themes, but of websites in general: if you take a look around, every commercial developer, whether creating for Drupal, Joomla or Wordpress, has a slider of some sort sitting above the fold.
